III.             PPPC News

a.      Full membership meeting: June 10th at Zion Lutheran, 7:30 a.m.

b.     Executive Committee: meeting April 27th at 10:30 a.m.

                                                          i.      Resources and funds are needed to cover basic operation

                                                        ii.      Meeting with faith group to organize help with poverty action, specifically in the area of hunger and food services.

c.      Information & Analysis Committee

                                                          i.      Root cause analysis meeting

d.     Awareness & Education Committee

                                                          i.      Working on brochure and next yearŐs meeting in January

 

IV.             Sub-committee reports

a.      Faith & Poverty subcommittee meeting April 26th 4:30 p.m. at Prince of Peace

                                                          i.      Working on what to include in media kit; rollout date Wed. June 24th at 7:00pm to be held at Universalist Unitarian the kit will include quick, medium, & long term activities; suggestions for sermons

                                                        ii.      Will Bloedow: member of Food & Emergency Shelter Committee; FEMA funds available for local agencies, United Way distributes funds

                                                      iii.      Two Poverty Simulations planned for Faith Week on Oct. 9th and 15th;  Faith Week also supporting the Crop Walk on Oct. 11th

b.     Continuum of Care Schematic

                                                          i.      First meeting April 29th at 8 a.m., St. Elizabeth Hospital, Fowler Board Room

                                                        ii.      Schedule: determine scope of work/goals/audience for schematic

                                                      iii.      Updating resources available to the homeless

c.      Volunteer & Resource Fair: tabled
